Chartres - Air Show 2025

On September 21, 2025, the tarmac at Chartres transformed into an aerial theater, vibrating to the rhythm of drones and dazzling trajectories. From the early hours, an uncertain sky hung over the event: clouds, sometimes heavy with the promise of storms, played with the light, sculpting an atmosphere both dramatic and fascinating. For the photographer, a challenge: capturing the precision of the figures despite the fleeting shadows, capturing the glow of a fuselage in a fleeting ray of sunlight.
This day was not only a rendezvous with airplanes, but also a moment of sharing. At my side, my youngest son, also passionate about photography, observed, adjusted, and took the shots. Two perspectives, two sensibilities, a shared thrill with each low pass, each controlled spin, each engine roar that resonated deep in my chest. Between demonstrations, we exchanged few words—the language of enthusiasts often speaks without words. A simple glance was enough to understand: this one had to be captured.
Above us, the sky sometimes opened, letting in a golden light that caressed the aircraft with an almost pictorial radiance. Mirage, Rafale, aerobatic teams, or historic aircraft, all seemed to dance with the clouds. The weather didn't destroy the magic: on the contrary, it enveloped it in a poetic tension, a striking contrast between mechanical power and the fragility of the elements.
On the way back, our ears still ringing, one certainty remained: these suspended moments, captured with two lenses, bore witness as much to our shared passion as to the ephemeral beauty of a sky in motion.
