The moment was suspended. The sky above Chartres was draped in a thick, almost threatening gray, as if the weather itself wanted to be the only spectator. In the middle of this dark canvas, the Allstar SZD-54 Perkoz glider cuts through the clouds: one wing tinged with blue smoke, the other a bright red, tracing two vivid lines in the uncertain azure.
While silence reigns at altitude, one senses the concentration, the surge toward the sky, the beauty of flight without an engine: the aircraft glides, stabilizes, captures the currents, and the colors become luminous markers in a dramatic setting. For us, the photographer-accompanist and my son at my side, it was a challenge: to capture the elegance of the gesture, the finesse of the camera, and the powerful contrast between the smoke and the cloud mass.

This Perkoz doesn't just fly; it writes in the air, it dances in a sky that it imposes in its own way. Thunder may rumble in the distance, the light may flicker, but the glider continues its trajectory, free-spirited, silent. And we, behind the lens, we plunder the moment—the moment when the aircraft, simple and precise, becomes poetic.
