Far from the large tropical butterflies, this small Dynamine (subfamily Biblidinae) captivates with its shimmering deep blue dorsal fin against a matte black background. The white dots along its wings betray its presence in flight, forming a discreet yet elegant signature.

Native to the rainforests of Central and South America, this butterfly likes to hover at the edges of low vegetation. Its rapid flight is punctuated by brief pauses where it displays its patterns, a perfect balance between camouflage and visual signal. It feeds mainly on pollen or fermented sap, which gives it a longevity and atypical behavior compared to other Lepidoptera.
