Sometimes it only takes a moment of light for beauty to emerge. There, on the rough leaves of a bramble bush, a peacock butterfly (Aglais io) had landed, wings wide open, as if to defy the green and prickly jumble that surrounded it. Its vivid colors and almost unreal eyespots seemed to say: I'm here, look at me.

This butterfly, so common in appearance, is nonetheless spectacular. It is one of those familiar jewels of our countryside, which we often pass by without taking the time to observe. But that day, in the heart of the bramble bush, in this contrast between beauty and disorder, it stood out like a burst of living nature.

A simple but striking apparition, between shadow and light.
