Photo Ponza looms on the horizon

About this photo

After more than an hour and a half of crossing on a calm sea, the island of Ponza is perfectly outlined and stands out from the horizon. The boat veers slightly to port, charting its final course towards the port, which is still out of sight. The island first appears as a rocky mass sculpted by wind and salt, proudly emerging from the deep blue water.

Its steep reliefs, still shrouded in mystery, seem to float between sky and sea. The contrasting light on the rock and the sparse vegetation give Ponza a wild, almost surreal appearance. This moment suspended between the sea and the island, where we feel we've arrived but without yet grasping its details, is an invitation to wonder.

All around, the infinite blue of the sea blends with the azure sky, in an almost perfect continuity. We approach slowly, in a peaceful atmosphere full of promise.
