Once through the gate, the light becomes scarce. The narrow, sunken path at the foot of the high walls seems to swallow the daylight. After the sun's glare on the exterior stones, this sudden darkness surprises the visitor and immediately imposes silence.

The massive ramparts barely filter a few rays of light that slide along the damp stones. A dense, almost mineral coolness hangs in the air, as if the castle were enveloping you, isolating you from the outside world. This passage of shadow acts as a symbolic threshold: you leave the plain, the road, and the hustle and bustle behind, to enter another time.

In this twilight, the eye gradually adjusts, discerning the contours, the rough edges, the traces of the past. This is where the visit truly begins: where the light becomes timid, but where history reasserts itself.
