In Terracina, the past is never far away. Strolling through the narrow streets of the historic center (Centro Storico), between two ancient facades or at a casual intersection, it's not uncommon to look up and see, up there, Mount Jupiter (il monte Giove), majestic, silhouetted against the sky.

And at the very top, overlooking the city and the sea, stand out the columns of the Temple of Jupiter Anxur (Tempio di Giove Anxur), an ancient and familiar silhouette that has watched over Terracina for over two thousand years. Sometimes misty, sometimes bathed in golden light, the temple appears between the rooftops, a discreet but constant reminder of the city's past grandeur.

This play of sudden apparitions, between the weathered walls of everyday life and the quiet strength of Antiquity, gives the city a unique depth—the depth of a place where history is intimately intertwined with life.
