Near Cancale, the walk continues along the shore at low tide. The rocks, blackened with algae and marked by the waves, provide a contrasting foreground to the landscape. Behind them, the horizon widens and reveals the silhouette of the town, facing the sea as it always has.

The summer light illuminates the bay with a clear glow. The play of reflections on the puddles left by the retreating ocean blends with the gray and silver tones of the damp sand. The air fills the lungs with its scent of salt and iodine, while the cries of seagulls punctuate the silence of the late tide.

From this vantage point, Cancale slowly reveals itself. We haven't yet been immersed in it, but we can already sense its vitality: the houses nestled facing the sea, the quays where we imagine the buzz of the market, and even further away the waters that nourish its history and its renown. Here begins the approach to a living city, shaped by the ocean, and which lets itself be glimpsed before fully revealing itself.
