The fourth day of our journey takes us to Saint-Malo, the famous corsair city. Barely out of the underground parking lot, we come face to face with the majestic Tour Générale, which stands proudly at the southwest corner of the ramparts. The vast surrounding square bustles with the bustle of tourists and strollers, setting the tone for this port city steeped in history.

Built in the early 15th century, the Tour Générale was part of the defensive system designed to protect the city from naval attacks. With its powerful granite walls and gun ports, it testified to the military expertise of the time and the strategic importance of Saint-Malo, a prosperous and coveted city at the time. The tower also marked the entrance to the old port, a symbol of Saint-Malo's maritime power.

Now perfectly restored, it welcomes visitors at the entrance to the old town, like a sentinel frozen in time, recalling that Saint-Malo was once the stronghold of corsairs and the scene of great maritime epics.
